Christmas 2010

I hope everyone had an excellent Christmas!  Ours was very quiet.  I got some lovely craft stuff though.  First a new camera - yay!  It's great, I just have to figure out how to use it.  Also a natural light lamp, for taking photos and so I can see what I am working on.  Always helpful.

I got lots of new Swarovskis.  This picture is me sorting them out into storage pots.  I didn't get all of these for Christmas, by the way!

A lovely book on making wire jewellery!

From my MSE Secret Santa!  Lots of jewellery bits, as well as some very helpful templates not shown in the picture.

Beads!

My aunt's cat Bonnie poses for my first picture.  She's very friendly and sweet.

Her gorgeous dog, Jay - exhausted by a day of begging for food!

Facebook Page

I now have a facebook page for my jewellery and eventually my cards.  I've also added bag charms and keyrings to my stuff.

To boost my 'likes' I've started a competition.  It's really simple - just 'like' Sparkly Place Jewellery and Cards on facebook and comment on the competition status.  As soon as I reach 100 likes, I will pick someone to win an item of their choice (using a random number generator.)

New Folksy Shop

If anyone wants to take a peak at my Folksy Shop, here it is!

Jewellery!

Lots has happened since I last updated!  I've made tons of jewellery, started up a Folksy shop and had some sales, and signed up to have two stalls at events.

I can't post a picture of everything, but here are a few things:

Cream and brown necklace and earrings

Swarovski crystals are Lt Smoked Topaz, Golden Shadow and Mocca.  The smaller ones are Dorado.
The same crysals used again, but with a cream and sparkly gold stone.  I wish I was a better photographer, because the cream stone is really pretty and this isn't doing it justice.

Dragonfly Set

My mum is a huge fan of dragonflies, so I made her this.  The swarovski crystal colours are crystal AB, violet opal, Indian Pink and amethyst.

Matching earrings.

Blue Set with Fairy

Bracelet with blue and white glass beads, and shiny round beads.  A fairy made out of swarovski and glass.
 Matching bracelet.
Earrings.

I've gone over to the sparkly side...

I've just made my first pair of earrings!  Made out of swarovski crystal and a glass bead.  Silver plated.

Now I have to learn how to take good pictures - any tips?  I'm such an awful photographer - I have shakey hands, so most of my pictures blur.  So any suggestions on how to take good pictures of jewellery would be much appreciated.

An engagment card for Mary and Bob.

Just kidding.

Some more Christmas cards

I made these before I got ill - hope to do some more this weekend.

Christmas cards

Shiny snowflake card, with 3D snowman, a penguin and snowflakes.

Aperture card with hanging lights, gold ribbon and embellishments.  I've made quite a few like this, and really like the way they look with the lights hanging down.  I've put mirror gold card behind it.

From a decoupage set with a glittery green background.

A Stampin' Up rolling snowflake stamp was used, and then embossed with silver.  The text was only used once - when I went to use it again, I found it in half.  No idea how that happened, and I really liked the stamp.

My entry for the Christmas card with no red or green challenge.

Some close ups of the ribbon - that I adore so much!

Having seen the gorgeous other entries, I have no chance!  But I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

Wedding cards

I was asked to make a wedding card, so I made two so she could choose.  The other will go to my cousin who is getting married later this month.
